6) Use of your data for direct marketing purposes
6.1 Subscription to our e-mail newsletter
If you subscribe to our e-mail newsletter, we will regularly send you information about our offers. Your e-mail address is the only compulsory information required for sending the newsletter. The provision of any further data is voluntary and will be used to address you personally. We use the so-called double opt-in procedure to send the newsletter. This means that we will only send you an e-mail newsletter after you have explicitly confirmed that you agree to receive the newsletter. We will then send you a confirmation e-mail in which you will be asked to confirm that you wish to receive newsletters in the future by clicking on the respective link.
By activating the confirmation link, you consent to the use of your personal data in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR. When you register for the newsletter, we will store your IP address entered by your Internet Service Provider (ISP) as well as the date and time of registration in order to be able to track any possible misuse of your e-mail address at a later point in time. The data collected by us at the time of your registration for the newsletter will be used exclusively for the purposes of advertising by way of the newsletter. You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time by following the link provided for this purpose in the newsletter or by sending a corresponding message to the controller indicated at the beginning. After you have unsubscribed, your e-mail address will immediately be deleted from our newsletter distribution list unless you have explicitly consented to our further use of your data or unless we reserve the right to further use your data to the extent legally permitted, about which we inform you by this privacy statement.
6.2 Dispatch of the e-mail newsletter to existing Customers
If you have provided us with your e-mail address at the time of purchasing goods or services, we reserve the right to send you regular offers by e-mail for goods or services from our product range similar to those you have already purchased. We do not need to obtain your separate consent for this. To that extent, data processing will take place solely on the basis of our legitimate interest in personalised direct advertising pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. If you have initially objected to the use of your e-mail address for this purpose, we will not send you any e-mails. You are entitled to object to the use of your e-mail address for the aforementioned advertising purposes at any time with effect for the future by notifying the controller indicated at the beginning. This will only cause transmission costs according to the basic tariffs. Upon receipt of your objection, the use of your e-mail address for advertising purposes will be discontinued immediately.
6.3 Dispatch of our Newsletter via MailChimp
Our e-mail newsletters are sent via the technical service provider The Rocket Science Group, LLC d/b/a MailChimp, 675 Ponce de Leon Ave NE, Suite 5000, Atlanta, GA 30308, USA (http://www.mailchimp.com/), to which the data you provided when registering for the newsletter will be transferred. This transfer is made in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR and serves our legitimate interest in using an effective, secure and user-friendly newsletter system. Please note that your data will be usually transferred to a server of MailChimp in the USA and stored there.
MailChimp will use this information for the dispatch and statistical evaluation of the newsletters on our behalf. For the evaluation, the e-mails sent contain so-called web beacons or tracking pixels, which represent one-pixel image files stored on our website. This enables us to see whether a newsletter message has been opened and which links have been clicked. The web beacons used by Mailchimp can automatically generate general, non-personal statistics about the response behaviour to newsletter campaigns. On the basis of our legitimate interest in the statistical evaluation of newsletter campaigns for the purpose of optimising our advertising communication and better focussing on recipient interests, the web beacons will also collect and use data of the respective newsletter recipient (e-mail address, time of retrieval, IP address, browser type and operating system) in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f. GDPR. These data allow conclusions with regard to the individual newsletter recipients and are processed by Mailchimp for the automated generation of statistics that show whether a certain recipient has opened a newsletter message.
If you wish to deactivate the data analysis for statistical evaluation purposes, you must unsubscribe from the newsletter.
MailChimp itself can also use these data, in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR, on the basis of its own legitimate interest in the needs-based design and optimisation of the service as well as for market research purposes, for example to determine from which countries the recipients come. MailChimp will not use the data of our newsletter, however, to contact such recipients on its own behalf or disclose their data to third parties.
In order to protect your data in the USA, we have concluded a data processing agreement (“Data Processing Agreement“) with MailChimp based on the standard contractual clauses of the European Commission in order to allow for the transfer of your personal data to MailChimp. If you are interested, you may access this Data Processing Agreement at the following internet address: https://mailchimp.com/legal/forms/data-processing-agreement
In addition, MailChimp is certified under the "Privacy Shield" data protection agreement concluded between the USA and the EU, and is thus obliged to comply with EU data protection regulations.

9) Web analysis services
Google (Universal) Analytics
Google Universal Analytics with demographic features
This website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, 4 Barrow St, Dublin, D04 E5W5, Ireland ("Google"). Google Analytics uses so-called "cookies", i.e. text files which are stored on your computer and can analyse how the website is used by you.
The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website (including your abbreviated IP address) will usually be transferred to a server of Google and stored there, whereas a transfer to the servers of Google LLC in the USA is also possible.
This website uses Google Analytics exclusively with the extension "_anonymizeIp()", which ensures an anonymization of the IP address by way of abbreviation and makes a direct personal identification impossible. As a result of this extension, your IP address will first be abbreviated by Google within member states of the European Union or in other signatory states to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transferred to a Google LLC server in the United States and be abbreviated there. In these exceptional cases, this processing will take place in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR on the basis of our legitimate interest in the statistical analysis of user behaviour for optimisation and marketing purposes.
Google will use this information on our behalf to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on website activity and to provide us with other services relating to website activity and internet usage. The IP address transferred by your browser within the scope of Google Analytics will not be combined with other data collected by Google.

The current certificate is available for inspection at: https://www.privacyshield.gov/list
This website also uses Google Analytics for a cross-device analysis of visitor flows, which is carried out via a user ID. The first time a page is accessed, the user is assigned a unique, permanent and anonymous ID, which is set for all devices. This makes it possible to assign interaction data from different devices and from different sessions to a single user. The user ID does not contain any personal data and does not transfer such data to Google.
The collection and storage of data via the user ID can be revoked at any time with effect for the future. For this purpose, you must deactivate Google Analytics on all systems that you use, for example in another browser or on your mobile terminal.
This website also uses Google Analytics' "demographic features" function. This allows reports to be generated that contain statements about demographic data such as age, gender, and interests of site visitors. This information comes from interest-based advertising by Google, the Google Display Network, and third-party visitor information. You can deactivate this function at any time via the ad settings in your Google account or generally prohibit the collection of your data by Google Analytics as explained in the following.
You can deactivate the function by using a Google browser plug-in (https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de).
